The Prefecture of Paris Police dedicates its efforts to the protection of the inhabitants of Paris and of its province.

For this reason they do their best for the road safety. Besides the road checks, the Prefecture is responsible for the prevention and is actively present in the schools to make kids aware about the dangers in the streets.

The Cité des sciences et de l'industrie has therefore favoured the presence of the Prefecture of Paris Police at the exhibition “A toute épreuve” in order to organise labs on the road safety that will be held every day from April 10th to April 30th.

Scheduled are a two-wheel drive simulator, sight test and the discovery of the save-life actions on the road. Those labs are dedicated to children and kids aged 8 years-old and more.

As part of its long-standing partnership with DAINESE, a leading manufacturer of clothes and protective gear for motorcycling and all dynamic sports, GORE®, which has been a global leader in outdoor wear for more than 50 years now with the GORE-TEX® membrane, will be taking part in the exhibition "A TOUTE EPREUVE”, New technologies for human protection, as one of the technical sponsors.
The exhibition is set to take place from 2nd March to 8th August 2010 at the Cité des Science et de l’Industrie, un lieu universcience, in Paris.

Participation in such an important initiative as the exhibition at Paris’ Cité is a natural progression resulting from the goals of the long-standing association between the firms, which involves GORE-TEX® working together with DAINESE in the research and development of innovative products and beyond.
This event is the chance to reinforce this strong association with regards to education and specific culture too.
The exhibition illustrates the history of mankind through the many and diverse protection systems adopted over the course of time, often originating in the animal world or in nature itself.
Systems adopted in order to tackle the surrounding environment and the challenges of the various generations are exhibited with incredible historical accounts, highly creative insight and extremely topical examples.
All of this perfectly interprets primary concepts such as awareness of the risk factor, the selection of the best equipment and the importance of painstaking preparation that is never left to chance.
The issues studied in depth by “A TOUTE EPREUVE” are those that have always been at the heart of the GORE-TEX® world and that have been chosen to convey the characteristics and special features of products created by each of its partners, precisely as it did in its last international advertising campaign, in which technological solutions were united with those found in certain species of animal.

So GORE-TEX® is entirely in harmony with the reasons for the initiative, which provides a comprehensive picture through a multimedia exhibition divided into four sections, starting from the origins and leading up to the arrival of the most advanced technologies being studied for the future.

A special focus has been placed on tracksuits used for sport and particularly on motorcycling leathers, owing to which it is possible to have fun and enjoy extremely high performance safely, with the best protection:
Confirmation that innovation and advanced technology guarantee full satisfaction both for internationally famed motorcycle racers and biking enthusiasts on the roads around the world.

The mission for MIT is to promote the knowledge and educate its students in the sciences, technology and in the other areas of the teaching that will help to improve the World during the 21st century, exploring all kinds of themes such as cancer, energy, economy, literature.

In 2007, MIT has challenged Dainese on a very ambitious goal: dressing the astronauts of the future, those who will explore Mars beginning from 2030, year in which Nasa has planned the landing on the red planet.

Nowadays, the spacesuits are made using pneumatic pressurization with a bulky apparatus on the back.

They will be replaced by lightweight suits which will allow a greater freedom of movement.
